Thorpe Bay

back to work tomorrow after two weeks off and was getting a little frustrated that I hadn't been fishing at all over the holiday so went and dug some lug earlier this week and was determined to go Saturday night. arrived about 8.00 for an 11.30 high tide. Lovely crisp evening totally deserted beach.

Light breeze from the west and flat , calm water

sat for over an hour with no movement on the rods and with baits coming back in untouched so wasn't looking promising, then about 10.00 I had my first bite and from then on both rods rattling non stop until I packed up at midnight - ended up with a dozen whiting - all returned to fight another day.

Didn't expect great things but was good to get out and break my run of blanks :)

Nice to sea a Southend report. I wish more fish frequented the neighbourhood, i go to Clacton with the yak nowadays.
