Lack of fish!!

Post by rabbi2 »

Starting to think the Northwest area's are devoid of fish especially from the shore. Very poor catches of late

Even at Holyhead turned out to be a waste of time with the bait coming back untouched with 4 of us fishing with 2 rods apiece, called it a draw after 7hrs.

My 2 mates went down there the following week for 4 days and blanked. No wonder there's so much fishing gear on Ebay :( :( :(( :((

Game fishing is OK, but general fresh water fishing? "Not for me I'm afraid"

Still not brilliant on the south coast Keith. But at least a few fish have been caught.

I saw on a certain other site we don't mention a catch of 25 bass from the east coast, with a photo to prove it. They were all knocked on the head. Anglers can be as bad as the trawlers. That would be a very rare catch too, even rarer now.

I fished in the English Channel in a boat launched from Dymchurch, Kent, last Tuesday and Sunday. The fishing was pretty dire on both trips, a fair amount of fish but little of any size - apart from the mackerel which were low in number but very big in size. On Sunday I caught a 2.5lb tub gunard drifting on the Varne bank, but no other decent sized fish. We will have to see what the Winter brings!
