Help for a disabled sea angler in Brixham

Post by Ironside » Thu May 12, 2011 1:44 pm

Hello, my name is Penn and I live in Brixham Devon. In 1986 I broke my neck in a swimming pool accident here in Brixham. I enjoy both freshwater and sea fishing but mainly fish for carp nowadays. However, I really want to get back into sea fishing but it's difficult to find people who can accompany you and help out. So I'm looking for somebody who would like to help me out I enable me to go sea fishing. There are only a few limited places I can go here in Brixham, the breakwater, Oxon Cove are just two places which are not difficult for me to access. I've got my own transport and all my own tackle/rods and reels etc. And more than happy to pick people up if necessary and I can carry quite a bit of gear in my van. I'm not really into specialised sea fishing, I really like nothing more than a little bit of float fishing for mackerel. However, I quite like mullet and bass fishing as well. I am able to cast and retrieve the float by myself, I just need help strapping the rod to my arm and obviously setting things up and putting things away at the end. If as anyone who thinks they may be able to help me then please don't hesitate to contact me, it would be great to meet new people enjoy this great hobby together.

Yes, fingers crossed. There are not that many places that are accessible to me in Brixham, however Brixham breakwater is a great place to fish and some parts are really good for wheelchairs, as long as you've got someone who can pull your float out of the rock occasionally.
