On big tides of 7.0m or more try fishing the shallows the tide rip is not as fierce there. This set of tides for the weekend just gone were the 3rd biggest of the year. Bay 26 is a very good bay on 6.2m tides or less. Good luck with the cod fishing this winter. Another tip is to try the new breakaway leads, they have stronger wires and grip much better.

There are ways that can help you hold bottom, even on a big running tide, What are you doing to try and hold out?
