cheapish boat rod and reel
Hi,
I have done a few charter trips but the rods that I hire seem OK but the reels need a lot to desired. I was looking at the muscle tip combo but in past experience with combos the rods seem ok but the reels are not so good. Any recommendations as the rod will only used occasionaly

Hm, dear old Paiges don't do s/h as far as I know and they can be a bit pricey although I often buy bits, bobs and bait from them. It could be good to do a trip to Portsmouth sometime, some of the s/h shops often have rods and there are at least three tackle shops worth looking in: Lock, Stock & Tackle in Elm Grove (there's usually free parking nearby), Allan's Marine in Twyford Ave, Stamshaw and Solent Tackle in Winter Road, Milton (he's not so big but you never know.)
