Post by aircooledadams » Mon Apr 23, 2012 10:43 am

FYI - On Saturday 21st April an 11 metre fishing vessel hit the blocks and eventually sank in position 50 45 816N 001 01 758W this wreck is a danger to all vessels!
It is in the approaches to langstone harbour approx 0.6 miles SSW of the fairway.

Hmm, very interesting post. Hopefully the authorities will put a marker on it soon. Wonder how it got that far away from the blocks before it sank - maybe the skipper was trying to get into Langstone harbour?

Yes, we heard him on the radio Saturday afternoon, he didn't sink immediately, but was taking on water fast. They launched the life boat and I guess he was trying to get to Langstone, but without success.
Don't know how he managed to hit the blocks in the first place, pehaps he wasn't local. Expensive mistake!
