Also does anyone know where I could buy one of those small storage basket things that hang over the boat like in this picture?

Hi John, The smallest I have been out in on the Thames Estuary was 16ft, didn't take me long to change that for an 18ft...

I suppose a lot depends on the conditions at the time, and how many people would be on it?

Sorry I can't help with the basket thingy, have you thought about a shopping trolley cut down a bit?...I never said that...lol

Hi mate, I have a boat 16.5ft but I also have a mall boat at 12ft double skinned and foam filled that I intend to use for the harbours etc. It is rated at 2 to 8hp engine so I have fitted it wit a 5hp.
I will edit this post and insert a picture of it.
Cheers

Lovely Boat There Keith, is that one in the pic the 16ft one?
I am hoping to upgrade to a 15ft cabin boat in late 2010 as I have relised I may need a tad bit of space lol.
Thanks Again
