Question for CJR owners

I'm trying to find out what the max engine size the CJR is rated for.

Any idea's pls?

Not 100% but I think its 50hp. I did actually own one at one stage that had a 50 on it when I purchased it.

There's very little info out there on the net for this boat.

I'm also looking at a Shetland 535 and it's rated for a max of 65hp which was easy to find.
I've seen people selling 535's with engines in excess of 110hp but they are potentialy looking to loose their transom. The extra weight and thrust combination can be a disaster.

I like the idea of the CJR as it looks easy to launch and retreive and would do me fine for fishing with a mate.

I'm looking at one now with a 25hp volvo outboard on ebay.

I just asked the wife if I could spend 3K on a boat and she said YES!!

As long as it had room to sleep in as I would need somewhere else to live!

In the present financial climate it looks like I'll have to keep her as I wont drop my price anymore. Unfortunately like anything else you never recuperate your outlay and at that price Im losing 2k.

If anyone has a caravan to put in px I would consider it though.

Mine is 16ft 6in
