chartplotter

Post by yankee » Mon Jul 27, 2009 5:45 am

I went with a laptop first time around. It seemed pretty good at home. I could plot where I was going and print maps and had a big screen. New computer, software and antenna about $700. The system would work better on a bog boat I'm sure. Too much glare on the screen and a hassle to use a power inverter because the battery does'nt last an entire trip. I'm much hallier with my Garmin unit.

i agree on that as anormal laptop does give a lot of glare that is why i use toughbooks which are designed to be used outdoors and have no glare at all and you can still see screen on the most sunniest of days
