hi was just wondering if anyone knew of any place around cardiff/newport/swansea area that do window seals for boats as i need to get some new seals and would like to pick them up the same day as im meant to be going out on it on the weekend for the first time and recently bought some off seals direct (the gaps were meant to be 3mm each but arrived one side bigger than the other) so it fits on the window find but its to big of a gap to fit on the window. Dont suppose any1 knows of anyway i can get them on the boat do they? any technique?

not sure on the type of seal but if its like old car windows just fit seal to glass and feed a length of single core electric cable all the way round the outside groove with the two tail ends slightly crossed over and enough to grab hold of. spray loads of pledge / firniture polish on seal get one person to push window against hole from outside while you pull wire from one end from inside. the rubber should flip in around cabbin.

hope it makes a bit of sence, you can probably see this being on you tube
thanks jamie :D

you will find that on all window rubbers one side is bigger than the other as usually the boat mold is thicker than the windows that are fitted ie:5mm molding to 3mm windows, if they were the same size you wouldnt get the rubber insert to fit
