Was out again on the daphne Carole yesterday and relief skipper phil white (skipper of chinook 2) took us out. Left the marina around 8 and was fishing within 40 minutes. In the first hour and a half I had my only 3 skate of the day followed by a couple of doggies for the remaining 5-6 hours however it was only me having problems as between the other 6 on the boat there was between 50-60 skate caught! All females were returned with only 15 or do males kept. Weather was terrible but at least the fishing made up for it, well for the other 6 at least! bait was squid and herring but I believe most skate was caught on squid. There were other charter boats out but they only managed around 30 skate each so once again phil put us on the fish!
