Barge Pier report

Post by stillsy » Thu Aug 11, 2011 11:47 am

cloudy sky & very strong onshore winds put paid to any thoughts of catching any Mackeral

However, I had freshy dug King Rag & so was still hopefull of catching something. Despite trying close to the pier, casting a little way away from th stem & then launching bait as far as I could of teh head not a bite on any of three rods :(

interested to see someone arrive just before high tide with some decent peelers fish very close in to shore & get a bite first cast - though nothing caught before we left

Sorry to hear that, Stillsy. Barge Pier is an infuriating mark - great one day, rubbish the next. Should be some macks this weekend... Always fish on the stem bit on the Southend side.
