Well thank you cabbus for organising another great comp nice turn out .The banter was at its usual high level of discussion on world politics and climate change. Congrats on your 60th i thought you only about 57 it just goes to show what a healthy lifestyle can produce , you are an inspiration to us all.....EXCELLENT pyrotechnics roy and with tim on security everything felt really safe, ducker outfished me once again and nearly made a cup of tea at one point sorry for not saying goodbye to the chaps on the left of me but could not be bothered to walk down there

,,,,,dave was talking to len and i dont think samphire hoe is a good venue for a comp maybe hythe easy access short walk across beach loads of free parking no snags sort of you should only loose about 10 rigs....well done to all that showed and happy birthday admiral cabbus master and commander of the the fleet ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,ps i think hythe sounds good it was duckers idea but i can take the credit for it with pleasure

tight lines chaps great night martin

I had a great night.....Thanks for organising a great event....Thanks Garry for the lift.

Personal best Dog fish and Whiting for me last night :D

The best Night's fishing I have had so far. I had no fish after 4.30 am. Maybe it was down to me being tired and not baiting up properly. If I was not so Tired, maybe Snagger wouldn't have pipped me to best fish by 1cm!!!! Lucky bugger.. I did have quiet a few lost fish in the breakers, as I was reeling in. Never fished a surf venue before, so a few lessons learnt. (maybe that doggie I lost was over 60cm? :D )

Tight lines

Pappa Smurf.....

I agree, it was really tough for the first 3 hours untill high water. In the daylight ,I would have cast from the high tide line. But seeing as I have never fished there before, and it was dark, I thought it would be safer to walk down to the waters edge. Watching those breakers hit the shingle put me on edge a bit.....Didn't want to test out my floatation suit in the cold.....

suitably rested
still in agony from walking about 10 miles on shingle throughout the night

arrived at approx 3.30 with leonardo and snaggosaurus, picked up superb worms from the pier tackle shop
ate sausage and chips from the chippy near the venue...luvvly jubbly

parked up just as cabbus and tellboy arrived

we all struggled over the shingle like overloaded pack horses

set up and waited for the off

snagger couldnt wait and had 2 fish first cast so it looked like it might be a busy night :D :D

well it was, we all had fish from the off
i had 27 in total biggest was a very respectable muttley of 57cms a PB
snagger hammerred me with 52 i think but he can tell you all about that

at 1 am i trudged back to the car to get cabbus's birthday cake ( supplied by my good lady ) and some fireworks that i found in my cupboard.

had fireworks, ate cake, wished the old fart happy birthday, went back to fishing
b.t.w.
cabbus
i won the cake eating comp with 4 slices, do i get points for that :D :D :D
we packed up at 7am by which time i think everyone had had enough, personally i was knackered, it was a struggle back to lennys car.

all in all a superb nights fishing with a great bunch

cheers for being our taxi lenny, much appreciated

my total fish catch since jan 1st now stands at 210 and 3 x pb's

i think 2011 is gonna be a good year

Hi all,

I am now back from the WINNERS enclosure <:-P <:-P <:-P <:-P <:-P .

What a great night we all had, we were catching from the off:-

My fist Codling of the year:-( 31cm )
Image
and my 2nd:-( 27cm )
Image

I had 3 Codling in total :D :D :D :D

1 Dab 25cm of which I have no Photo

1 Rockling of 23cm of which i have no photo so this if a pic of my
PB Rockling:-
Image :)) :)) :)) :)) :)) :)) :)) :)) ( NOT )

40 Whiting ranging from 17cm to 29cm ( most were around 23cm )

12 Dogfish ( Lesser Spotted I believe ) :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Making my total for the match a handsome 57,

With a PB Dogfish of 59cm snatching the match from Steve (ActionSanta)

who could only manage a tiny Puppy Fish of 58cm ;) ;) ;)

A couple of the Doggies I landed:-

Dave ( Cabrat was surprised ) when Roy ( Aston 74 ) got the cake and the

fireworks out s we all wished this Top Bloke a very Happy Birthday:-

A pic of myself with mine:-

The Winner's presentation OMG it's ME :-* :-* :-*:-

It was great to see and chat too old and new faces and welcome to the

Looney fishing Club to Steve (Action Santa) hope to see you at a lot more

of these fun comps, Thanks also to Liz ( Roy's Better Half ) for getting the

cake and Again to Lenny ( Ducker ) for sorting the travel plans ( My Turn

next time we are out mate ).

After I got home and had a bath I nodded off on the sofa:- ( This is Smokie one of our 7 Parrots
Image

hope to see you all at the next Comp,

Keep Em Tight All,

Tim B-)

Ps:- When we were loading the car after the match I looked round and

there to my amazement was this French Tramp:-
Image

He had a half dunk bottle of meths in his back pocket and stank of urine so

Lenny took pity on the poor old Frog and gave him a lift to

South Ockenden to get his boat ( thought it was strange as there is no

water there, Maybe he is related to Cabus :)) :)) :)) :)) ).

I made him sit on a carrier bag as you can see in case he wet himself

again :-

( love you really mate ) :x :x :x :x
