OJ 30/11/09

Post by CodCrazy »

fished the stem of the oj yesterday, just the three of us were there, in all we managed 20 sizable whiting 5 of which was well over a pound, a nice pouting and a dab,

all was taken on lugworm tipped with fish on size 2/0 vikings on a running ledger rig,

i had one rod with 4/0 pennel and whole squid but didnt get a sniff all day,

fished the ebb only and all fish seemed to come at range,

this was the first time fishing the oj and will deffinatly be back next week to try for a cod or two,

cheers shane :)

P.S had reports of southend pier fishing well at night with anglers taking 12 cod a night each on the east point, can anyone confirm this :)

i too do the exact same, except my hooks are far smaller (hence mre whiting than gold)

ill try 4/0's and see what happens,

do u tip ur lug? i sometimes use three lug and a squid head on a pennell but all i seem to catch is whiting
