Heysham Morecambe Sea Fishing Places to Fish?

Post by KevP »

Hi,

I was 10 years old when I last went sea fishing, which was nearly 30 years ago and on the old Pipeline off the Battery!

I do a spot of Trout fishing in Ullswater once or twice a year to keep my hand in!

I'm keen to have a crack at sea fishing as I live locally to Morecambe / Lancaster, I've bought some new gear from Gerry's but I was wondering where about in Morecambe / Heysham should I fish?

The very spot you mentioned in your post produced a Bass of about a couple of pounds to a sea angling virgin just last week. A more productive area would be the edges of half moon bay. Ledgered baits produce Plaice and Bass, the latter can also be captured on slim silver spoon type lures.

Hi Tomcat,

thanks for that info!

I went out yesterday on the rocks by Thornton Rd Morecambe!

Fished with Lug, managed 2 Plaice, one a little over a lb and an eel!

Seen as I haven't sea fished for 30 years I was well chuffed to catch anything!
