Fished this area last night 2 up 1 down ht 8.37

10 rockling, 5 whiting, 3 dabs and 1 flounder.

All taken on week old smelly skelly.

nice to hear your catching my dads mate said the roundhead in heyshams fishing good latley he had 15 whiting 1 flounder 1 codling :D :D

I think smeely skelly refers to lugworm that has gone off and reeks to high heaven.

I have used such bait when desperate and one time outfished all on Blue Mink.

If you find that folk shun you, take a good niff of it sometime lol

Smelly Skelly.

Its a lugworm thats not quite a black lug - probably generally known as a yellow tail. Great for flat fish as they seem happier with bait thats less than fresh and a bit sticky and soft but still hardens up when splatted on the ground.
