Hope you don't mind me asking sue how did you pay for it because dependant on how you pay determines if you get the free gift or not.

It's fair game for seasoned anglers to regularly have a pop at Sea Angler magazine because a lot of the articles and features seem to get repeated year in year out and because the tackle reviews are nearly always glowing regardless of whether the stuff is good or crap.

Despite fishing since I was nine years old I still subscribe to it. Most of my fishing mates take the mickey out of me for this but I still like to flick through it when it drops through the letter box every month- even if its to look at photo's of fish I havent caught. Some issues are better than others admittedly but as long as you take the reviews with a pinch of salt and dont buy gear you fancy on their recommendation alone some of the articles and the Skills Cente section can be helpful to the beginner especially- ( The Ian Golds articles on matches were interesting- more so if you're new to match fishing and interested in it as a competitive sport) -after 12 months you can decide whether its worth renewing your subscription.

I read my missus' Eve magazine every mont and that definitely is full of c*#P

I think the sea angler mags are great for when you are just starting out :)
I used to get them when I first started and very much looked forward to new issues :D , but when you become a more experienced sea angler you stop having the need for them and you do notice repeat topics which is understandable really.

Even now if um in the News Agents I`ll have a sneaky peek through ;)

I've read it since i started fishing and i have to agree with many of the points mentioned but i also find it useful to see new tackle , and read reports of anglers actually out there fishing and seeing the fruits of their labour .Usually alot better than mine !!!!!!

all points noted I think everybody has their own opinion so I think we might let that subject finish here before it drags on a bit with out trying to offend anyone if thats ok.

I agree. I leared a great deal from sea angler and improve your sea angling magazines. I also used to love the little free gifts like rig making boxes.
