Newbie bass at dungy

Post by D-Angler_Dan »

Hi all new to the forum, started fishing again about a year ago,
Been reading posts since then (very helpful on all aspects) but now got a story to post myself, so here goes:

Trip to dungy planned , mates car breaks down, didnt think we was going, mate borrows dads car to go somewhere local.

Drive to Sheppey but blowing a gale so we decide to go dungy after all,
Arrive at dungy set up by the light house near the point ( I think ).

First cast, 3 hook flapper loaded with lug, using Abu 6500 for first time, (new multiplier rod still in post so using fixed spool rod) line wrapped round top eye so SNAP!!!

Set up second reel same set up but with fixed spool this time cast out left for about 5 mins get a bite, reel in small whiting But have my leader from first cast
Attached so start pulling it in by hand, as it comes closer it shoots along the beach by now very excited as I see a flash of silver. My first bass a 3lb-er

Very happy to say the least fished for bout 3 hours in all as weather was terrible but still had loads of small whiting, rockling and flatties

I still havent had the pleasure of getting the bite and fight of a bass on my rod but still landed one on my tackle so that counts in my book.

Can't wait to get back to dungy for a full session :)
