HYTHE LAST NIGHT 25-08-11

Post by dabhand »

thought i would give hythe a try yesterday evening.
fished from 6.15 to 10.30, high water being about 9 ish
used lug and squid
a nice calm evening apart from non stop rain from about 8.30 onwards
the crabs were a serious pain in the arse with me having to sometimes check my bait every 5 mins cause they were stripping it so quick
i did manage about 15 small whiting though so was not all lost.
its good to see the yting start to show in numbers already, albeit small, makes a change from schoolie bass!

Hi Gary,
Looking good for the winter whiting. Know what you mean about crabs - was fishing the Isle of Wight last 4 days and the crabs were stripping the bait as soon as the line hit the water - went through so much bait it was frightening.
See you down Deal / Walmer soon.
Colin.
