arrived at dungie 7am unloaded an headed for the boat for the dreaded push down the shingle..... winds light south-west, dry an mild, noticed cod bones on the beach so was hoping today could be the day... headed south-east to fish the bay and was greeted by 9 boats already out fishing, MUST BE HOT THEN

1st hour went by with whiting action all keepers... jim has a good take an brings up his new p.b. best codling at 5lb 8oz closely followed by geoff with a 1 of around 5lb.... my turn soon.... 2 hours pass by an still its whiting for me with the odd keeper pout thrown in.... jim hits another cod this time 6lb 8oz beating his p.b. again, where are the cod for me :-S :-S skipper decides to up anchor and we move all of 1000 yards, water drops from 70ft to 110ft with the tide slowy easing up.... jim hits a cod straight away with his rod doubled over, but its short lived, the hook straightens...... geoffs turn for the run of pout an whiting, its over for me, im getting a run of dogs taking 4 in 20mins an losing 3.... up comes another cod for jim..... then my rod slams round an im into a real battle, on a light uptider an 20lb line im not in control of this fish an after a tough 10min battle up comes a cod looking to easily to beat my 8lb p.b. on the scales it goes 12lb 8oz

big grin

bait back on, 3 blacks and whole squid, straight away im in again, up comes another 12lb 8oz cod, followed by a 10lb cod then a 7lb cod, well happy i am now, the skipper calls for the last cast of the day so we bait up again, bang goes the rod resulting in my 5th cod and the 3rd one weighing 12lb 8oz

my total catch, 5 pouting, 15 whiting, 4 dogfish and 5 cod, a well worth day an one to remember...
