Dover Report

Post by bearskin »

just back from the breakwater/
got bait froms Bills tackle (broom handle worms)
fished the first two pegs as you get off the boat, high tide was at 0953,
only used a single hook on both rods, was very quite until about an hour after high then it was bite after bite. was useing size 2 hooks and could not hook them. so went down to a size 1 and we could see what was hitting us SMALL dabs got 6 in total none of any size but it was a day out and totally enjoyed.

Would expect a bit more for going out on the breakwater, as its not cheap to fish, well for me it aint anyway. As hebby said, least no blank.

Wow, don't think it cost me that much for a boat trip last year!
Still would like to give it a go, but somehow doubt I could afford to be a regular!
Thanks for the info though and good luck if you fish it again
Regards
Martin
Ps I haven't found Admiralty too bad but maybe I've been lucky, did have to fish POW pier once when Admiralty looked packed, this was partly due to Samphire being closed.
Fished POW once before that and both times. didn't catch much at all.
Mind you, on the busy issue, I fished Hythe near the boats saturday and that was pretty shoulder to shoulder with inevitable tangles. Seems the sport is really growing!
