deal pier question ??

fishing from pier on lower deck at low tide is it worth it and what would you expect to catch ??

Best time mate, codling in winter, hounds in the summer. You may find more snags due to the water level. My advice cast as far as you can and reel in like crazy. Stick to a pulley rig.

Last time I fished Deal Pier I lost about 3 rigs to snags. An old local boy next to me said that when the contractors refurbished the pier some years ago, they dumped sections of reinforcing bar over the edge, rather than cart them back to shore. It probably makes a good "reef" for the fish but crap fishing if you fish too close. Good advice by Shawn to "reel like crazy" and hopefully drag the sinker high over the snags. Good luck.
