Hi all, I was wondering if anyone on here has used a shakespeare navigator beach shelter at all, and if they have are they any good? A mate has a ron thompson one and swears by it but I dont know which would be the best one to buy, any help gratefully accepted, thanks guys & girls.
hi fishalot can't help with the navigator shelter, but i also own a ron thompson one it is a top piece of kit if you are fishing on a shingle or sandy beach. ive owned mine for at least 5 years now used in all conditions and still going strong i also use 2 windbreak poles as large tent pegs and its very sturdy won't go without it
Don't bother with the hassle of a little tent mate, it doesn't get cold enough in this country to use one. Iv'e never used one in over 40 years of fishing.
I love my ron thompson shelter. I dont use it much as I do a lot of pier fishing but When I ever go beach fishing its a must have. I burn so easily... The wind is worse and it is so comforting knowing I have a bit of shelter from what mother nature wants to throw in my direction
I have had my beach buddy for about 8 years now actually went to John Holdens home to pick up. Only use if want to keep wind or bad elements off. Cant fault it and when collapsed attaches to my rod holdall no probs.
Ive been using a Ron Thompson for 3 years now and have even lived in it for two ten day sessions in the summer on Chesil and a few weekend sessions at Dungy and Normans Bay, so they are a good size, stable and weather proof. Even stood up to force 9 cyclonic winds at ferrybridge which we fished through lol!

Wasn't that May Bank Holiday - I took the kids onto the beach by the visitors centre but soon came back to the car as I thought we would get blown away...
