Sting In The Tale

Post by MulletFly » Sun Dec 15, 2013 8:45 pm

When the long, slashing tail first broke surface, I thought that I was dealing with a Stingray. Upon beaching the fish I was glad to realize that it was in fact a Thornback. Could this be the first thorny to be caught on fly in UK waters?

It was bloodworm with wire added to the body and a gold head to get it down in a fast current. Lost a BIG bass and a sea trout on it as well. Mag is in the shops now. Merry xmas mate and all the best for 2014. Col.
