went to church norton this morning.arrived at 8.30 and had a look around.hw wasnt until around 4ish.plenty of fish showing them selves, leaping out the water.very frustrating .got amongst the bass shoals around 12ish.picking off bass to 1lb every other cast to the gurgler.then the heavens open with heavy rain.when the rain stopped,so did the action from the bass .no bass or mullet to been seen .decided to walk back towards the car ,fishing as i went.had changed to a clouser with a small red fly on the dropper.saw a little blitz just of the shore ,about 20yrds.waded out, cast the flies .2nd cast ,bass on .safely landed at 1 1/2lb.third cast after the bass ,the line gets pulled with some force threw my thingers.line dissapers out of the line bowl and into backing.after several explosive runs and a beach landing i land my first mullet on the fly.
weighing in at a heafty 5lb3oz.
had ten bass to 1 1/2lb
what a day

Again, well done Mick. I know you've been after one on the fly for ages and I'm chuffed for you, especially as the SWFFing is hard going this year.
