Hi Joe, My advice would be to talk to experienced yak anglers before making any purchase. They will be able to give you good advice as to what to start with and will probably offer to accompany you out until you have some experience. My local sea angling club (in Kent) has several yak anglers and they are always ready to share their knowledge.

I would love to fish from a kayak but, at 70 and with spinal column damage, it is now sadly out of my ability. But I wish you all the best with your kayak.

I would tend to agree with the Judge and I would also make a little list of the criteria which I would want a kayak to fit for my purposes. My daughter owns a small one which was quite cheap but in no way does it have the characteristics which would suit me for angling - no where to store fish caught or anywhere to securely fix a rod for example.

Thank you all for your replies and advice, I will check out the other forum thanks and carry on researching before I buy, as obviously initial set up wont be cheap and I need to make sure I'm happy and safe.

Thanks again

Joe :)
