Grockles are yer most likely catch there in the first week of August, I'd be looking for somewhere quieter nearby like Crackington or Hartland.

You can fish from Bude breakwater and from summerleaze beach- there's a tackle shop in Bude on the waterfront which sells bait etc and offers advice- seemed ok when i went in and had fresh peelers and plety of frozen bait but worm needed to be ordered in advance.

You'll need to check the tide times- if you're fishing the flood tide be careful as it comes in very quick once it gets moving and i would recommend fishing early morning or evening if you can. Chances are the beaches will be heaving as its school holidays- We've been outside the school hol period and its busy enough then.

Good Luck

Crackington's just as bad Eccles- although might not be as bad in the evening- plus you've got the hoardes of surfers - saying that if crackington is bad there's always the pub to retire to and enjoy the sunset.

I'll be fishing early mornings for about 4/5 hours. I hear there is plenty of mullet. Ideally I would like to fish bottom and a light rod for bass/mullet float/spin is it good for Bass that time of the year there and what other fish are around.
