chesil beach tuesday the 1st dec any tips?

Post by West_ottery » Sun Nov 29, 2009 5:52 pm

hi everyone
I got the day off tuesday and I thought I might drive up to chesil beach for a day of fishing. anyone got any tips on bait, location and state of tide etc as i've never fished their before. What i would really like is a cod or bass if i could be lucky enough.
Cheers

have a look at http://www.channelcoast.org/data_manage ... /?chart=68
before setting out, Chesil can be evil if it is rough.... a 2m wave does not look big on that chart but it looks very big when it's stopping you get your catch out of the surf.
Chesil fishes at all or any or no state of the tide, depending on the day. If it is at all rough then fish a couple of hours before and a couple down from high so that you are not tempted to go down off the safe(ish) shingle 'ledge' to get near the water. You cannot outrun an incoming wave...

details of all Chesil marks on my blog www below.
