Sunday 15th

Post by Paxo » Thu Nov 12, 2009 9:14 pm

Evening everyone. New to beach fishing and to forum so go steady on me.

Have a boat trip booked out of Weymouth on Monday 16th and was also hoping to make weekend of it by getting down on the Sunday and having a go off Chesil/Bexington area.

Weather looks stormy so not expecting the boat trip to go ahead but wondered if anyone could advise whether still worth coming down for beach session or not given the wind/wave forecast.

Hi Paxo, welcome to the forum.

Personally, I would give Chesil a miss this weekend. The storms are forecast up to force 11 according to the Met Office, which means the shingle bank threatens to be dicey as hell in those conditions. Another forum has a number of posts on the subject and the consensus is that although catches are good at the moment, risking your life is a step too far.

For me, I may try a slightly more sheltered beach on Sunday as there is a forecast break in the weather for a few hours.
