Good luck George. There should be lots of fish there. You only need to cast 50-60 yards. When i fished the other day I was using fish baits (small strips odf mackerel or sprat) tipped with squid on 3 hook flappers. Straight onto the beach from the carpark down by the Otter. Bite a chuck.
If you want squid, try tescos. They have it at the wet fish counter.

That's one place I thought about. Plaice do pop up there and in the gin clear calm water that would be the time. Before anyone says it's too early. Well I have had Plaice at Branscombe in December before now. You need to hit the sandy bits. Which is hit and miss any how. I got my information from a Diver who has seen lots of Plaice out there.
If I get a chance and weather stays like this I might well try Jacobs Ladder. Let you know.
Keep at it George. You got all the hall marks of a good sea Angler as you are researching it all and asking questions. Well done.
