what sort of bait is used here and is there any other marks round this area

Do you mean Lyton Lynmouth North Devon ?
Ivy stone is the place for Tope. Not sure at moment though. Wrong time of year. Nor would I recommend you trying to walk out there on your own without any local knowledge. See your from Heathrow. Be careful , it's the Bristol channel. Second biggest tide variation in the word.
If I were you try Silery sands east side under Contisbury hill. Safer.
Not sure how it fishes this time of year. Dont live that way any more.
