winter fishing shore lyme regis QUESTION

wondering what species i might be able to catch (if any) off the lyme piers in january? any suggestions of what to do ?

you are mostly going to catch pout, dogfish and its best on the flood rather than the ebb.

So exactly where is "Lyme Piers"? I know of the Cobb wall or Harbour wall. But never heard it called that before.
Plenty of Whiting showing further down Seaton way that's for sure. Some reasonable sized too. Expect a hand full as it turns dark. 3 hook rigs with fishy baits works a treat.
One Greedy B**tard took a huge lug bait on a Pennel. Waste of good worms.

Tasty fish though. Wife filleted them , so you can see , not a bad size.

by lyme piers i ment the victoria pier and the north wall which make up the harbour. hows axmouth estuary fishing? do you need a licence there? flatfish ?
