Anglesey Sea Trout
Took two good Sea Trout over 4 pounds whilst plugging for Bass at mouth Alaw in March, 2005. Both fish took Abu Terminator black and silver sinking plug. This was the first time I'd been plugging, first cast landed 10 foot from the shore as I was casting at an angle to the steep banked shore-line. I am not exagerating that the splash of the plug was still airborn when the fish grabbed the plug. The second fish fell to the same tactics five minutes later. I have since carried out some research on Sea Trout and it is commonly known that Sea Trout going up-river to spawn tend not to feed. So why did I catch two fish? The answer is that if you put the lure right on top of them they will have a knee-jerk reaction to snatch at the lure though eating is the last thing on their mind.
