Crimping pliers

Post by Reels_on_wheels » Thu Dec 13, 2007 10:59 pm

Hi folks, can anyone recommend decent crimping pliers? I bought what I consider to be the cheap red ones and they have lived up to being what I thought, cheap and not very good. I am not even using a great deal of pressure so as not to crimp the leader but they are bending in my hands, thus not crimping correctly.
Is it worth getting proper crimping pliers or can you get away with other tools, pliers, long nose pliers and such like.
Any tips or hints appreciated.
Thanks

Always use my radio (long nose) pliers mate. They are never going to bend/break and do the job perfectly well plus they are one of the most useful items in my tool box. My mate has some stainless steel ones which he uses for hook removal too.
