Portland Rig?

Post by codroe »

Has anyone heard of a Portland Rig for catching Bass.It is apparently very good and easy to tie.Does anybody know how to set one up or is it just a different version of the Paternoster?

Hi Codroe,

I think there was one in one of the mags this month. I'll have a look. If it is do you want me to scan it in and e-mail it to you?

Just had a look at the mags this morning, did you mean a Portsmouth rig?

If you did, its in TSF and is also known as the Goldsy Loop rig after the bloke that invented it. Its supposed to be a good distance rig for comps.

it's in the latest Sea Angler I think but it's a boat rig. Simple running ledger basically.

My apologies, you are right lockyerp, it is in sea angler and it is a boat rig. If you still want it Codroe, let me know and I'll e-mail it.
