Ok guys, I'm using some bait elastic at the mo which is, quite frankly, utter rubbish. To get it tight enough to do anything it snaps. I've been told that to tie it off, you pull it into the bait-it snaps.
Is it something I'm doing or is it just crap elastic?
Can anyone recommend a good brand or do you have any good tips for tieing up wraps???
HELP!!

Is it quite old? Juices from your bait will rot elastic. I prefer fairly weak elastic as it's easier to remove if the crabs haven't done it for you.

Its been like it since I bought it. At first I thought it was just me but my mate can't get on with it either.
Heres another question-Why elastic? Wouldn't cotton be just as good and hold it togethet better, or am I missing something?

Decent elastic will tighten down on itself and doesn't need tying. Try a different brand and see if it's any better.

I'm afraid that I can't remember the make of my elastic. Next time I'm in the tackle shop I'll have a look.

Must be great to have such vast sums of cash at your disposal
Whatever you settle on, keep it in a dispenser so it doesn't rot.

I don't have vast sums of cash-the kids do! I just raid their piggy banks when they're not looking! I'm having a spend up in a week-it's bonus time so I've got to get rid of it before the missus finds out! Might even buy that zziplex. Now, has anyone got any advice on how to make new kit look second hand?lol

Cheers Basildon mick I'll give that a go too. Sure I'll find something that works. Worst ways I'll raid the wifes drawers for some knicker elastic!

I've used shearing elastic for years. Grat stuff. Just grips itself and doesn't need to be tied off and one spool lasts for ages.
