Hermitt crabs

Has anyone used hermits from the beach if so are they any good as i have had 2,000 of them delivered to me from a freindly potting boat i am going to use them from my boat in the summer as i do know they are deadly over wrecks

They are a prime bait for Smoothhound and thats what I have only ever used them for personally.
