mussel wraps

hi guys thought i would have a go at making my own,using an old bathroom "scrunchy thingy"

they are a bit messy and fiddly to make,i used the mussels frozen(from my exstensive supply i have in my freezer,dont ask lol).they go on hook well,and the "wrapping" comes back on the hook when the crabs have eaten all the mussel,i did however have some success with a whiting or two.
put them on just like a strip of squid (concertina style).

Hi Andy, get one of those really thin crepe bandages, much easier to work with. If im not mistaken them bathroom scrunchy thingys are nylon, and very springy.

yeah they are a bit springy but roll up very tight,and besides rather than the missus chucking it out,thought i would go all heath robinson on it.

Sounds like a good idea, I always thought that sloppy baits like shellfish and peelers would be better attached to a hook wrapped in some sort of porous fabric.
