Sea Fishing Angling

im new to fishing im useing a 12ft beach caster with a fixed spool reel in herne bay and im useing feathers for mackerel is there any other better stuff to use any tips would be much appritated

The most common baits in use are lugworm, ragworm, mackerel, squid, mussels, sandeel and crab. Hope this helps mate. keith
