Can someone please recommend a line?

Post by Gail » Tue Jul 13, 2010 7:10 pm

Hi, after my last fishing trip (when I backed off the magnets on my multi) it overran on a cast and made a complete mess of my line.
It could do with replacing anyway but there are son many I don't know where to start.
About 18lb should do. I bought some last year and threw it away before I had even fished with it so I don't want to make the same mistake.
Any recommendations? Not too expensive though. Thanks, Gail

Gail, Its a minefield out there as with anything else, everyone has his or her own favourites and you will have so many different lines recommended that your head will swim. My advice is to see what other members advise bearing in mind the cost and as Compo would say "Go with the flow".
Cheers

Sufix tritanium is a top quality fishing line. Long distance surf casting line, superior abrasion performance, smooth & consistent diameter, tough and dependable. Between eight to ten quid for 1500 metres on a spool of 12lbs breaking strain or 950meters of 20lbs with a low diameter of only 0.40. Comes in high vis yellow or red and clear.

I always use Daiwa Sensor for carp fishing but never tried it for beach dangling.

Oh dear, you were right Keith, lol

I am watching some Tritanium on eBay. Think I might try some of that just because I fancy some coloured line for a change.
The line I messed up was Daiwa Sensor, couldn't fault it really just fancy some of that yellow or red stuff.

I have put my magnets back where they were too. :)

just to throw another one into the mix........ultima distance in yellow.

i have it on only one reel as im running low on it but very very good. i know a lot of competition casters use it too.

on the rest of my reels i have suffix tritanium which was mentioned above. i like this too and got a 4000m spool that worked out pretty cheap for a line that good.

if i could get the ultima distance for the same price i'd probably use that instead. dont know why i prefer it, i just do
