recommend fixed spool ?

Post by scoob8254 »

can any1 recommend a fixed spool reel that wont break the bank, have been looking for one with a low gear ration that has some propper grunt about it, started doin more pier work and my current mitchels struggle to lift the fish up the 30ft or so when i have a decent fish on, before any1 suggests a multiplyer i have one already, would also like a fixedspool tho with some grunt about it

Agree with Mick, pick a low ratio one (less than 4:1).

Good pointer joli but some Shakespeares have a problem: Spool skirt is quite shallow and it is too easy for line to get trapped underneath especially at night. Seen it happen to my mate a few times.
