Okuma magnetix mg20-cs

Post by rickyfella09 »

just wondering if anyone can help out. now when casting it makes a funny noise like a kind rachet sound but it is in the off postion but it still flys out a good distance for an overhead thump of the pier. has anyone heard a similar thing and if so any remedies. thanks

It's normal for this reel- a friend of mine was asked to test a pair for a customer who had returned them to the local shop as they were noisy in exactly the way you describe- one was noisier than the other but they both cast fine as yours does.

You could clean the bearings with WD or lighter fuel and re-oil them to see if that improves the noisiness but i wouldnt worry as long as the reel is running ok
