NEW ROD AND REEL

Hi guys not been on here for a while just wanted any thoughts on a new lure set up something aout 10ft casting 10-30g and a new reel too balance it out really not got ant ideas of rod are reel so ant suggestions would be very helpful .

I personally use a 9' 6" uptider for lure fishing because I can always use it for bait fishing if I get tired of lure casting but of course you need to ensure that the top section is whippy enough if you go that route. As far as reels are concerned I have found that Daiwa's fixed spools are reasonably robust but be careful of the weight - for lure fishing I would suggest you stay under 500 grammes also don't get anything with less than 3 bbs.

Mike Ladle Spinning rods from Veals offer good value- teamed mine up with a small shimano reel- worth looking out for special offers - nice and light which as Eccles mentions is definitely a consideration as you'll be doing a lot of casting..
