does anyone know if its a good rod as i fish of walton pier with an overhead thump and want to learn the pendulum cast for my beach fishing will use it with an abu 6500 mag elite.

Ian, (Rock hoper) brought one of these rods.
Cracking good, they are suitable for overhead, and with their fast tip recovery are also good for pendulum. They are capable of very good distances and, I would say probably the best rods in their price bracket.

never used one of these but heard good things about them. do a google search. you'll do well to find a bad review.

Do you know if the 6 and bait are from the Red range or the Blue range?
I have been using a pair of 14' Big Beaches for a few years now and have found them excellent. They are well finished and made with good components. Heavy enough to drag conger and ray out of the Shannon but will show a flattie bite in the estuary. i cant think why the 6 +bait would be any different.
