hi there, was just wondering if anyone could give me any tips on getting the reel seat off one of my beachcasters without damaging the blank as i want to put shrink wrap on it

One way to try, is to take a junior hacksaw, and cut a continuous spiral aournd the reel seat from one end to the other. Then basically untwist it from around the rod. Obviously you have to be very very careful not to damage the rod.

It is a long shot but you could try and heat the reel seat up using a hairdryer as they might have used hot melt glue. Once you warm it up it should turn and the glue will seep from the edges, then you can just pull the reel seat off. Failing that follow the advice Kenny gave you and be careful.
