Clacton pier

Hi all I'm coming to clacton for a long weekend on the 26 oct staying at the orchards caravan site I'm bringing my fishing gear and was wondering if u can fish the pier and what baits to bring or is there takle shops close were to fish the main target would b codling any info please

hi mate it fish ok at moment, mix bag yting codling dabs pouting and odd skate, times thinks its 8am till 6pm ive alway found better fishes on the flood tide as tide do run hard there, bait lug rag squid and dont forget to try a yting livebait for the bass??? baits shops there one near pier call bryan deans google it for address. ps my mate had 15bass to 3lb of the beach at the weekend fishing at night all the fish were very close to shore only 20yrds out
