Hello not my area but ive tried to do a little search. From what i have found it seems to be a good cod area in the autumn and winter? This time of year seems to be starting on the bass. Personally a 2 rod set-up with one rod using a decent size bait cast close (running ledger size 2/0 hook ). And then a 2 hook flapper not cast out too far (50 yards maybe). Ragworm, squid and mackeral baits seem to work here. And there is a good tackle shop what i have read called Viscounts in Ipswich. This is knowledge i have pulled doing a search so i hope it helps ;)

I fished East Lane not so long ago, plenty of crabs around stealing the bait and there was only small fish around.

There is a good fishing Tackle Shop in Woodbridge call Stuarts Guns & Tackle which do good bait at reasonable prices.

Tight lines.

Matt
