hi
i know this is probebly a stupid question but if im fishing at herne bay from the shore or on a pier useing lug worm or mackerel do i just cast out and reel back in or do i leave it untill i get a bite
any help would be much appreciated

Hi Chaz,
Leave it out there and wait for a bite. It gives the fish time to pick up on the bait's scent trail and find it. How long you leave it out there is up to you, after a while the bait will lose a lot of it's scent and worm baits will die and stop wriggling. That's if the crabs haven't stripped your hooks first!
I'd leave it out there for about 15 minutes at a time and see how it goes.
