:) Gents I read what u say about launching a small boat to get into loch Etive there are numerous and free launch sites all u really need is accurate tide times for above the falls of laura as obviously this is critical,
There is a good site I have used many times with a normal car, on google earth it is directly south of Furnace quarry and the turn off is about 10 mls before u get to Oban. have launched here many times with 12 to 18 foot boats without undue hassle. Watch out for the shallows and the currents especially after heavy rain and the river is in spate but if u have the required knowledge and apply care I dont think any problems should occur. My worst dread up there is the midgy it makes me lose my cool all best hope this helps somebody.

Re group trip

I would be up for a trip boat fishing read lots about it in press and on-line. Only problem for me is i use crutches or wheelchair, so would need help carrying my gear to boat. I have transport and lots of freetime.

spent a week on loch tay fishing from a boat with no luck. perhaps being able to fish deep for sea fish and shallow for trout / salmon might inprove my luck. :)
