Etive fishing from the boat

Post by scottishcodhunter »

Had a good day on the loch ,weather was fine and it is such great setting that you cant complain if the fishing was not as good as you wanted it to be - I did not get a thornie

We fished up the loch to begin with hookias with squid and mackies as bait and landed a loads of 1-2lb red cod and all were healthy, friend Stu had a LSD ,moved around the loch drifting but was quiet for a couple of hours. I was trying for a thornback but no joy as we hit kept hitting the spurries biggest around 4lb but it kept us busy and all fish returned to fight another day

Idea - :D anyone fancy a meet at Loch Etive we could hire some boats from dougie for the day -let me know :)

Might just settle for Loch Long then up near Arrochar as its safe and easy launching.

I would certainly be up for that as it saves me trailering my own up there, I would have to find a date between 1st June to 1st September, perhaps Manic would be up for it. I believe rag is the preferred bait. This is hard to come by near me but lug is plentiful.

The more the merrier as far as I'm concerned, perhaps we could even get a block booking with all deposits forfieted in the event of any cacelations unless filled by others.
